Gentle Art Aviation was founded on more than 30 years of structured technical and operational leadership, brought into aviation instruction.
Our founder's career began as an avionics technician on F/A-18 Hornets in the United States Marine Corps, developing an early respect for procedure and attention to detail. That foundation carried into more than 30 years of progressive IT leadership experience across multiple industries — from engineering and manufacturing to large-scale infrastructure and technology operations.
That same discipline — building reliable systems, managing risk, and leading complex operations — is what Gentle Art Aviation brings to flight training and aviation services.
Aviation has been a lifelong passion, long before a career made room for it. Gentle Art Aviation is being built deliberately and for the long term — currently as a part-time venture alongside a full-time career, with instruction and services offered evenings and weekends as availability allows.
Gentle Art Aviation operates independently as a personal venture and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or operated on behalf of any employer.

Why "Gentle Art Aviation"?
The term Gentle Art comes from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a discipline I have practiced for more than a decade.
At first glance, aviation and jiu-jitsu seem unrelated. Yet both demand discipline, humility, patience, and a commitment to continuous learning. Progress doesn't come through shortcuts—it comes through repetition, reflection, and refinement.
One of the most valuable lessons jiu-jitsu teaches is that learning never ends. Every training session reveals something new. Every mistake becomes an opportunity to improve. The same is true in aviation.
That philosophy shapes everything we do at Gentle Art Aviation: helping pilots develop the knowledge, judgment, and confidence needed for a lifetime of safe flying.
Because mastery isn't a destination—it's a journey.
Aviation Is About People
For all the technology, procedures, and regulations that make aviation possible, the most meaningful part of flying has always been the people.
Some of the most memorable flights haven't involved destinations at all — introducing family and friends to aviation, sharing a sunset above the Gulf Coast, watching someone experience flight for the first time, or simply spending time together from a perspective few people ever get to see.
Those moments are a reminder that aviation is about more than airplanes. It's about connection, confidence, adventure, and creating experiences that stay with us long after the flight is over.
As an instructor, our goal is for students to develop more than stick-and-rudder skills — to build the knowledge, judgment, and confidence that allow aviation to become a meaningful part of their lives for years to come.

Gentle Art Aviation is preparing to launch flight instruction and aviation services out of local Southwest Louisiana airports, offered part-time around a full-time career — availability primarily evenings and weekends.
Pilot Development — Structured instruction for Private Pilot, Instrument Rating, and Commercial Pilot training.
Pilot Proficiency & Recency — Flight Reviews (BFR), Instrument Proficiency Checks (IPC), proficiency coaching for pilots transitioning to new aircraft.
Contract Pilot & Aviation Services — Ferry flights, contract pilot support, and aircraft management for owner-flown aircraft.
